FRM guide
How to revise for FRM
GARP's FRM Part 1 and Part 2 both sit around 45–55% pass rates. The exam rewards quantitative fluency and disciplined practice — 4 hours of MCQs across four topic areas. Here's the plan.
Hours per part
Part 1: 250–300 hours across 4–5 months. Part 2: 200–250 hours (Part 1 knowledge carries over).
Quant fluency comes first
If your background isn't quantitative, spend the first month rebuilding statistics, probability, and regression. Every later topic uses them.
Question volume
Target 2,000+ practice questions per part. GARP's own practice exams are the closest to exam feel. Third-party banks fill the volume gap.
Exam-day pacing
2.4 minutes per question. Skip and flag rather than dwell. Unanswered questions cost the same as wrong ones.
